Infinix Note 8 is officially announced on October 15, 2020.
The smartphone is powered by a Mediatek Helio G80 Octa-core processor and Mali-G52 MC2 GPU. The smartphone comes in various colors such as Gray, Blue, and Green. It comes in a big screen that has a 6.95 inches display IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1640 pixels.
The device is built with a non-removable Li-Po 5200 mAh battery + Fast charging 18W. The smartphone runs on the Android 10.0 + XOS 7.1 operating system with the user interface. The phone handles Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by).
Infinix Note 8 features a quad camera that consists of 64 MP (wide) + 2 MP (macro) + 2 MP (depth) + 2 MP with Quad-LED flash, panorama, and HDR. The front camera consists of a dual camera: 16 MP + 2 MP (depth).
The device is coupled with a loudspeaker and a 3.5mm jack. The smartphone features Bluetooth 5.0, GPS with A-GPS, Radio, and USB Type-C 2.0, USB On-The-Go. The sensors include Fingerprint (side-mounted), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass.
There are two ways to look at Infinix’s most important smartphone this year: as a follow-up to a very worthy flagship as the next best thing or as a deserved update to the Infinix Note lineup.
Given that it’s under half a year since we saw its predecessor, the Infinix Note 7, I chose the former outlook following my weeks-long interaction with the device.
The Infinix Note 8 is bigger than the Note series it represents. If you are out to buy a smartphone today and are on a budget but not willing to compromise on a lot of the features and the specifications, it will likely be high up your radar. Competing devices from rival brands like, say, Samsung, at the same price range offer much less and are heavily reliant on the big names of their makers to get them through the door.

Unboxing:
The first thing you notice about the Infinix Note8, its captivating box. INFINIX is still on its journey with bold-coloured packaging. This eye-catching design is that kind that instantly tells your neighbour you just launched a new smartphone. However, the new Infinix Note8 stunning yellow and turquoise blue box is the same as the earlier released Note7. The only difference you will notice is that while the Infinix Note7 blends the colours diagonally, the Infinix Note8 blends horizontally. Again, just like Infinix Note7, the Infinix Note8 comes with the engraved symbols of Infinix Note7, to show what phone you’ve got in your hands.
The Infinix Note 8 feels like the Note 7 to some extent. Its huge size is really noticeable and that is the one thing that will stand out when you take the phone out of the box for the first time. Using this phone with one hand is possible but may not be the best experience. You are better off using both hands as that is more comfortable.
The back has this gradient two-tone glossy colour that really looks stylish. I got the one with a blue colour that Infinix is calling deepsea luster. It really looks good but unfortunately the camera isn’t picking that colour well.
The only thing we have on the back is the camera module with a 64MP Main sensor supported with three 2MP sensors and LED flash.
On the right side of the phone is the power button that also doubles up as a fingerprint scanner. Above that is the volume up and down button. The dual SIM slot is on the left of the phone. At the bottom we do get the headphone jack, USB C port and speaker grille.
For the display, we are getting a huge one that measures 6.95 inches in size. The display looks really good, it is sharp and the colours pop out so well. On the top left corner we do have two front facing cameras with a 16MP main one. From the few days I have spent with this phone, both the front and back cameras are good.
Performance:
Just as we expected, the Infinix Note 8 is more powerful than previous models while impressively increasing battery life. Running XOS 7.1 with Android 10, users can immediately begin using the phone. Download your favorite apps from the Google Play Store, use app double to complete multiple tasks all at once, Smart Clone, a useful translator, and more.
Mobile gaming is way better with the Note 8’s MediaTek Helio G80 chipset. With enough RAM (6GB to be exact) and 128GB memory means never having to compromise. It isn’t often we see a phone designed specifically with innovations for gamers. Infinix also increased GPU image rendering performance by fourteen percent for more realistic gameplay. Of course, even for those who don’t use their phones for gaming, the phone’s performance is astoundingly fast, efficient, and seamless.
